Teaching Notes contains an introduction and teaching notes for all Grade 1 - 7 pieces, gives advice on how to achieve a secure and musical performance. An introduction by the Chief Examiner with general advice on matters such as tempo, pedalling and ornaments


Scales, Arpeggios and Broken Chord Grade 1-8: The technical requirements for each grade are available in a series of volumes which also give advice on fingering.


Sight-Reading Grade 1-8: Specimen tests are available to provide excellent practice material for the examinations. These tests explore the necessary technical parameters but are also effective pieces in their own right

 


Aural Training in Practice book 1 (Grade 1-3). Book 2 (Grade 4-6) and Book 3 (Grade 6-8) and CDs: These three volumes are designed to encourage systematic and regular aural training. They contain a wealth of examples and show how aural training can be integrated in lessons.


Musicianship in Practice Book 1 (Grade 1-3), Book 2 (Grade 4-5) and Book 3 (Grade 6-8) contain a wide range of specimen tests, practice exercises and general instructional advice for the Practical Musicianship Test.

Theory

Music Theory in Practice: The Associated Board's best-selling series has been revised at Grades 1 to 5 to create volumes with a more user-friendly appeal. The attractive new covers have been extended up to Grade 8, although the content for Grades 6 to 8 will remain the same, as will exam requirements for all grades. (

Theory Workbook: A practical student’s guide - in workbook format - to the Board’s Grade 1-8 theory exams.  Describes the nature of the questions set on papers for the grade and explains clearly how to tackle them. Contains many sample questions so the student can immediately put theory into practice. Focuses very precisely on the skills and knowledge needed at Grade 1-8. Reflects adjustments and presentational changes that were made to the papers and introduced in 1999.

Past Papers: The papers set for the previous year are published so that teachers and candidates may use them for practice purposes.
